Forgiveness makes space. It makes a way to overcome and sometimes eradicate darkness. Bitterness, born out of unforgiveness, short-circuits creativity and relationships. When forgiveness is present, it infuses a beauty that in all of creation is singularly human. To forgive also infuses a beauty that is transcendently divine. Forgiveness rises above what was stolen and restores the ability to pursue a fully lived life. Forgiveness may not eradicate the memory, but it empowers living a life beyond it.
